It Starts Part II

So this is part II of the post.

Notebook II

I ended up going with the ASUS V1S-B1 (Google it for in depth details). Its much better than the other F3Sv-C1. Its 200 $ more and it have a few neat features. Its lighter and slimmer than the other one. Its also has double the dedicated video memory. The other was 256 MB VRAM and this one is 512 MB :D This means that I can finally play the Sims 2 the way it was intended to be :P. It maintains the 1680x1050 screen rez that the other had and a 15.4" display. I'm excited for this nice machine to come and am currently waiting funding.

I have discovered Golden Oreos. I know this is kind of a plug for Kraft but they are so good. If you haven't tried them then your missing out and should. If you don't like them then good for you trying them and forming an opinion :)

Got for Christmas a 19" LCD TV so we can watch TV shows here and it conveniently has a VGA input so I can hook up a notebook to it and we can have movie nights. I now have some popcorn for my air popper so we're all set. This also doubles for TV shows that are missed.

Thats it for now.

P.S. James I will try for every two days from now on but it might slip a few.

Notebook Update +

Hey all (two of you),

An update on my new notebook.

It has n't come :'(

This has been an update on the notebook.

It is still "In Process" so I'm not sure on its status. I'm hopping it come really soon as I am in heavy withdrawal without one. I work with Windows everyday at work and my parents computers both have Windows XP and I'm so in need of a friendly operating system. When I get my new computer and I install Ubuntu, my distro of choice I think I will write a review about it.

It also seems that there are other blogs with the name "Scott's Musings" so I'm thinking about changing my name. If you have any suggestions drop a comment in the comments section of this post and leave your thoughts.

Last night i went to my first nightclub with some friends. I enjoyed it till just about when we left, they decided that they would stick with rap music and for me that sort of destroyed the mood. In the beginning they played some really decent music and that made dancing fun. and too boot there was no cover so for me it was enjoyable free entertainment. I would do it again.

Its almost that time of year gain - yup Christmas. Here it has started snowing periodically added to the mood. I can't wait - lights, ornaments, lights, family, lights, music, oh did I mention lights. I love the new LED lights that are out they are really cool, literally. In grade 12 I made my own LED light sting that can plug in, and they're still working.

Well thats all fokes!

The on my mind part

As my title suggests there should be some content on here that is currently on my mind.

Well here we are at the end of the post and I'm so glad I got that out. Thanks for reading.

Apple
Apple just released Mac OS X 10.5, aka Leopard. I am a person who doesn't own a Mac but is comfortable in using them when needed. From what is floating around there is a lot of hype about this new release. It has taken Apple over two whole years to release this OS update. They clam that there is 300+ new and updated features that were added to the OS and its the best Mac OS X ever. For a really well written article about it check out the Ars Technica review. I personally like some of the changes in the OS but as I don't use it I don't want too speak bias about something I don't use. The one thing I have noticed is that when doing an upgrade random applications and iMovie do not function properly. As well, there might be speed issues on older Intel machines.

My new notebook
I ordered myself a new notebook on Tuesday :D I'm so excited. I never new that the stages of grief applied to computers, but apparently for me they do. I was first thinking "Oh I can fix it and it will be all good", then I was mad at it and trying to figure out why it was happening to me. Followed by a period where I mopped about in sadness over its frying. Now I'm finally at the point where I can get a new one without any problems because I have accepted that it will not be back. Goodbye Notebook - I will always remember you.

With that said, I bought myself an ASUS F3Sv-C1, Its a nice notebook, if you want more info just Google the model and there will be information galore. The only thing thats somewhat daunting is that I have to drive to Toronto to pick it up because I'm too cheap to pay the $40.00 shipping fee and the 2% credit card fee which is 38 something dollars. It will cost me about 20 - 25 $ to drive to Toronto and back which is way cheaper than spending $80.00 that isn't even for the notebook. It will be my first long distance driving trip with me driving (don't tell Andrei) so it will be exiting :D :D. I can''t wait till Saturday :D

Sucks!

Music
So I've come to a conclusion. I like 80's, 90's, 00's music with female singers. And this seems to be my biggest conclusion about music. I took me a while to realize the connection between most of the artists I like and it was hitting me in the ear. Thats not to say that I don't like other types or bands, like I like Coldplay and the B-52's (new album in Feb. '08) but the core of my likes is female singers. Next step is to figure out why.

S Out.
